There is none of the hassle associated with a foreign holiday; no need to exchange currency, arrange passports or spend hours making your way through airport security. There is no landing at your destination at some obscure time in the early morning, exhausted and bad tempered, only to spend your first day catching up on sleep. You simply bundle into the car, endure a couple of hours of 'Are we nearly there yet?' whining and then arrive at your destination. If staying put at the park come rain or shine is your thing, choose a caravan site with plenty of its own entertainment. Children can spend day after day playing in an indoor pool and making new friends, and club houses often put on family entertainment that children can get involved in while you relax with a drink. Be sure to take along lots of good old-fashioned entertainment too. Children will want to bring their games consoles along, but this can be counter-productive for everyone else who can't even watch TV whilst the console is in use.
